OMVIC, Ontario’s vehicle sales regulator, enforces the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act on behalf of the Government.

OMVIC licenses all dealers and salespeople, inspects dealerships, conducts investigations and prosecutions (or discipline proceedings) of industry misconduct and illegal sales (curbsiding) and provides a free complaint conciliation service to consumers. OMVIC also provides extensive educational car-buying resources to consumers at omvic.ca
